Undergraduate Global Ally Internship Program: Intern Positions

Data and Social Media Wiz – Assessment and Social Media Support

Looking for a Global Ally to help with assessment projects and social media platforms.  Work may include coding and analyzing data, assisting in the creation of reports and editing existing projects, as well as helping launch new assessment projects.  The potential ally should have experience in:

  • quantitative/qualitative data analysis
  • writing/designing reports
  • basic chart/graphic design
  • Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
Media Pro – Marketing, Photography, and Film

The International Office (IO) is seeking a “Media Pro”!  We are looking for someone with experience with graphic design, photography, and film.  We are aiming for this Global Ally to increase the International Office’s engagement online and enhance the IO marketing materials for future programming opportunities.

The “Media Pro” Global Ally Intern would be perfect for someone who is creative, highly organized, detail oriented, and has strong-problem solving skills!  We expect there will be strong collaboration between the “Media Pro” Global Ally with other Global Ally Interns.

International Scholar Programming-  Supporting visiting researchers, post-doctoral students, faculty, and staff

Seeking a Global Ally to assist with coordinating events for the International Scholar population at Northwestern (those who are teaching, conducting research or working on campus – not seeking a degree).  The Global Ally will coordinate a book club/event series for international scholars, a poster fair/conference for scholars to showcase their research, and any additional programs the Ally develops.  Programming for the Scholar populations can pose some unique challenges that the Global Ally will want to be aware of: international scholars are sometimes in the U.S. for only a few months, may have a spouse and/or children with them, are in a wide age range, and often have commitments during the weekday hours (Monday – Friday from 8 – 5). Scholars are also located both on the Evanston and Chicago campuses so we would like someone to be flexible coordinating events on both campus locations.

Service and Social Justice Programming-  Programs in Social Justice, Volunteering & Community Service

The IO is seeking a Global Ally who is interested to advancing programs that engage, enlighten and empower international students to explore issues of identity and diversity in the U.S. cultural context. Programs may approach these topics through dialogue facilitation, multimedia engagement, volunteerism and more. We are hoping for an Ally who is deeply committed to advancing diversity, exhibits cultural dexterity, and approaches challenging topics in creative and engaging ways. Projects will include expanding pre-departure/curricular programs and materials in support of the IO in Memphis spring break service-learning trip, supporting Discovering USA and working on other IO programs.
