Meet the 2018 Undergraduate Global Ally Interns!

The goal of this internship program is to bring increased awareness to Northwestern University’s international communities through the support of experienced Northwestern students.  Through this internship, Global Ally Interns will gain insight into this diverse and unique community at Northwestern, while also gaining practical leadership experience.

Savannah Christensen | Media Pro

Savannah is a sophomore from Naples, Florida majoring in journalism, as well as pursuing a minor in psychology and certificates in integrated marketing communications and design. She is a designer and editor for the award-winning student publication North by Northwestern, as well as a marketing committee member for Northwestern University’s Dance Marathon and a marketing intern for Northwestern Career Advancement. When she is not writing, designing, or studying, she likes watching movies, drawing, trying new foods, and exploring Chicago. She also loves skyping her 1-year-old niece back home in Florida.

Broderick Topil | Scholar Programming Support

Broderick Topil is a Junior in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. He is majoring in Economics and Political Science, and enjoys taking Spanish and French courses. His favorite experiences so far at Northwestern have been studying abroad in the Dominican Republic and France. Outside of studies, Broderick is a member of the Northwestern Triathlon Club Team and works for Rotary International World Headquarters. His favorite activities include ice skating at the Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon, going to the movie theater, and hiking in the wilderness. During the summer, Broderick works for the Foundation for Teaching Economics and is a Program Coordinator at the summer camp - Economics for Leaders. Broderick hopes that his time as an International Office Global Ally will be exciting and impactful for both himself and for the International scholars whom he will be working with.

Hi there! I’m a senior from Southern California studying Sociology and Civic Engagement and super excited to be joining the IO team. I am also involved in Greek life, a cappella, and peer health education on campus, and off campus, I volunteer at the YMCA and Symphony of Evanston.
