Monica is the Graduate Assistant for Multicultural Student Affairs. In this role, Monica helps coordinate Latin@ Heritage Month, supports the I Am Northwestern program and MSA Senior Congratulatory ceremony, and advises a number of student organizations. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Higher Education at Loyola University Chicago. As an undergraduate at Dominican University, she studied abroad for two consecutive semesters in London, England and Salamanca, Spain.  Her time abroad sparked her interest in college immersion experiences and international education.  She believes in the importance of using cross-cultural opportunities to help students develop more inclusive mindsets. Prior to coming to Northwestern, Monica was the Graduate Assistant for Rome Programs at Loyola's School of Education.

Outside of study abroad, she is passionate about access and retention of first generation college students, as well as Latino identity development.  In her spare time, Monica enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, and visiting her family in the south side suburbs.
