Northwestern supports and encourages leadership development for staff at all levels.  Each population will find a progression of learning suited for their role, represented by the ideas of Lead Self (Individual Leadership), Lead Others (Manager Leadership), and Lead Organization (Unit Leadership).

Leadership Development in Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs)

Northwestern faculty, students, staff, and alumni can earn Northwestern Coursera MOOC certificates free of charge.

For Leadership Development, Northwestern faculty host and conduct the Organizational Leadership Specialization.
A series of six courses equips you to lead organizations through clarity of purpose and effective collaboration. (How to enroll.) Topics in this specialization are:

  • building and motivating teams
  • designing and delivering powerful stories
  • developing strategies to appropriately influence
  • understanding underlying customer analytics
  • applying innovative approaches to deliver impact.
