Talent Development manages several campus-wide faculty/staff online educational programs. Learners enrolled in those programs can find support and FAQs here, and managers can find reports for tracking completion in those programs.

COVID-19: Returning to Campus

Sponsored by the Office of Risk Management, this 30-minute course outlines University policy, best practices and protocols for on-campus activity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Managers/supervisors can see the status of direct reports in myHR Learn > ME > MY TEAM. 

Are you a research employee, or do you manage or support researchers?

  • The Office of Research Safety (ORS) has prepared a course specifically for researchers called “Pandemic Essentials," also published in myHR Learn. The ORS website has information about the course, contacts for questions, access to completion reports, and related materials.
  • “COVID-19: Returning to Campus,” was prepared by the Office Risk Management for the general population. Northwestern does not double-assign researchers in both courses; however, some researchers may find and self-enroll in the Risk Management course in myHR Learn. The Risk Management course is potentially helpful but not required for researchers.

Harassment and Discrimination Prevention

Sponsored by the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance, this 45-minute course teaches enrollees how Northwestern protects its people and promotes a healthy workplace culture.

Launched in November 2019, and relaunch in 2022 the course will be assigned on an annual bases to meet state law requirements. The course is also assigned to new hires on an on-going basis weekly on Wednesdays with a 30-day completion target. Those who complete can download a certificate from myHR Learn from the course title page, linked below.

Safe Campus

Sponsored by the University Police, this 20-minute course teaches enrollees how to reduce the risk of violence on campus, prepare for emergencies, and respond effectively in an active violence event.

Launched in November 2019, the course is also assigned to new hires on an on-going basis weekly on Wednesdays with a 30-day completion target.
