The things that I enjoy the most at Northwestern are staying abreast of cutting-edge research, being part of advancing research in clinical trials, plenty of professional development opportunities, great benefits and additional perks from being part of Northwestern Medicine system.”

“There hasn't been a day that I was not proud of being part of this great organization,” says Kranthi Kumar Akula of the several years he has spent at Feinberg School of Medicine. Much of his pride comes from helping to advance Northwestern's cutting-edge research for Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“Clinical research was one of my top three career goals,” explains Akula, who started his career as a clinical research associate. After working to regulate human subject research for Regulatory Affairs, Akula was promoted to his current role as regulatory operations manager.

“The research that is done through our office is held to the highest standards and conducted in an ethical manner.” By fulfilling regulatory support requirements he sees the impact his team makes, not only to fight cancer, but also to further the University's research and educational mission. “I feel like I have been making a difference.”
