At Kellogg the most active employee resource group is ARC (Administrative Relations Committee) and they host an annual talent show. I’ve been very fortunate to be able to perform (e.g., dance, rap) at this venue every time I can, and it really is exciting and fun to be a part of it. ”

Jason Alba is the Business Administrator in the dean’s office for the Academic Operations department, but he’s also dedicated to giving back — connecting and elevating staff at Northwestern in every way he can.

“When I’m supporting faculty, when I’m dealing with students, and when I’m partnering with my staff colleagues, I’m able to give voice to those who don’t typically feel that they may have a voice,” says Alba. “I truly feel that my opinion is taken into consideration.”

Alba’s commitment to others by forging connections and bringing people together is abundantly clear. In 2019, he co-founded Kellogg’s first Asian staff resource group (KHAI: Kellogg Honoring Asian Identities). He is also currently co-chair of APIDA Staff Affinity Group (ASAG)and the events chair for Kellogg Enlace, one of Kellogg’s most prominent & active affinity staff resource group.

Fostering these connections is a selfless act that benefits others — but also himself! Alba says that “to be able to participate, attend and lead Employee Resource Groups that are dedicated to staff is an absolute honor and a blessing!”
