Sam joined Northwestern University as the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Interventions Provider in August 2016.  She provides prevention and intervention services, such as BASICS, in which she strives to create a nonjudgmental environment for students to explore their substance use.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and earned her M.A. in Clinical Social Work, with a specialization in Evidence-Based Practice, from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.  Sam most recently worked as a therapist on a research study within Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Department of Preventive Medicine, in which she provided individual smoking cessation counseling for people who experienced major depressive disorder.  Prior to her work in Feinberg, Sam provided AOD services in Health Promotion and Wellness (HPaW) in various capacities throughout the past three academic years and she is happy to be returning in this new role.  Sam is a self-care enthusiast and enjoys coloring, reading, and adventuring.
