HIV and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Testing
Northwestern students have several options as it concerns getting tested for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Confidential testing is available on campus and anonymous testing is available at several off-campus locations.
Appointments may be made in General Medicine or Women's Health by calling 847.491.2204. The test costs $30.00 and is performed in-house. Results are usually available the next business day. Your name is associated with the test and an entry is made in your medical record that the test was performed. Test results and your medical record are confidential -- only authorized Health Service personnel have access to your file. The test result will be released to outside medical personnel only with your written authorization.
Due to limited resources, Howard Brown Health Center is no longer able to offer on-campus HIV testing at Northwestern.
