What is Retaliation?
Retaliation is unfair or inappropriate treatment against an individual for:
- Registering a complaint,
- Assisting another in making a complaint, or
- Participating in the investigation of a complaint.
Northwestern policy prohibits the taking of retaliatory action against anyone for reporting or inquiring about potential breaches of University policy or for seeking guidance on how to handle suspected breaches.
