Assistance is available to those who experience temporary financial hardship that is directly related to changes made by the university because of COVID-19. In some circumstances, they may help with travel expenses caused by the change in calendar and technology needs related to remote learning. Workers who’ve been laid-off or quarantined because of COVID-19, may be eligible for unemployment benefits. Those who quit their jobs because of COVID-19 are not eligible for unemployment benefits unless there is another legally valid reason. Due to an increase in claims, IDES has announced a new online filing schedule to ensure everyone has access to the website.
For online applications:
- Last names beginning with letters A-M will be asked to file their claims on Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays.
- Last names beginning with letters N-Z will be asked to file their claims on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.
Saturdays will be available for anyone to accommodate those who could not file during their allotted window.
FEMA is simplifying the Public Assistance application and funding process to address the magnitude of this event and allow local officials to receive eligible funding more quickly. FEMA is working with the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Department of Health and Human Services and state, local, tribal and territorial governments to execute a Whole-of-America response.

You may be able to temporarily stop making student loan payments. Federal student loan borrowers can be placed in an administrative forbearance, which allows you to temporarily stop making your monthly loan payment through September 2020.

Bartenders can apply for emergency assistance from a fund managed by the United States Bartenders Guild. You do not need to be a member of the guild to qualify.
