My career has focused on short term therapeutic work, and connection to care services through case management and psychoeducation to improve my client’s health and health insurance literacy. My theoretical framework is integrative and includes psychodynamic, DBT, feminist/multicultural perspective, and family systems theory. Prior to transitioning to higher education, I worked as a medical social worker within a women’s health setting. I enjoy working with many presenting concerns including trauma and crisis, identity development, and relationship issues. As a social worker, my foundations are constructed around the importance of social justice and I greatly appreciate the ability to work with clients who are first generation students, come from low income families, or who feel marginalized.

My approach to supervision centers on creating a supportive, collaborative space for supervisees to grow, challenge themselves, process and provide feedback in consultation, understand the importance of continuity of care and connection to resource, and develop confidence as clinicians. It is important for me to develop an understanding of the supervisee’s learning style and incorporate that into our work together in order to foster a relationship that can highlight one’s strengths and identify opportunity to build skill. I see the supervisory relationship as meaningful to both parties, and enjoy being part of the learning process.
