Health and Safety Guidelines

The health and safety of our community is our top priority. Please familiarize yourself with guidelines and procedures in place for those who are on campus:

Vaccinations
Northwestern announced on April 26, 2023 that it will not require COVID-19 vaccination for most students, a requirement that was lifted for faculty and staff in January 2023.
COVID-19 Testing
Symptomatic testing is available for all students, faculty and staff.
Masking
Masking is optional in most spaces. Northwestern recommends masking in areas where distancing is not possible when transmission levels are elevated.
Procedures for Positive Cases
Students who come to campus are required to report positive cases of COVID-19. All community members who test positive should self-isolate and follow Northwestern requirements.
Gatherings
There are no capacity limits or restrictions for meetings and events. Masks may be required during specific types of events.
Travel
All travelers should familiarize themselves with and follow Centers for Disease Control guidance and protocols for domestic and international travel.
Visitors
All visitor restrictions have been lifted. Visitors may include prospective students, Northwestern event attendees, contractors, volunteers and family or friends visiting campus.
