Health and Safety Guidelines
The health and safety of our community is our top priority. Please familiarize yourself with guidelines and procedures in place for those who are on campus:
- Vaccinations
Northwestern announced on April 26, 2023 that it will not require COVID-19 vaccination for most students, a requirement that was lifted for faculty and staff in January 2023. - COVID-19 Testing
Symptomatic testing is available for all students, faculty and staff. - Masking
Masking is optional in most spaces. Northwestern recommends masking in areas where distancing is not possible when transmission levels are elevated. - Procedures for Positive Cases
Students who come to campus are required to report positive cases of COVID-19. All community members who test positive should self-isolate and follow Northwestern requirements. - Gatherings
There are no capacity limits or restrictions for meetings and events. Masks may be required during specific types of events. - Travel
All travelers should familiarize themselves with and follow Centers for Disease Control guidance and protocols for domestic and international travel. - Visitors
All visitor restrictions have been lifted. Visitors may include prospective students, Northwestern event attendees, contractors, volunteers and family or friends visiting campus.
