During Fall and Winter Quarters, follow your department’s return-to-campus plans. To balance campus needs with individual employee needs, the Alternate Work Arrangements policy has been extended through March 31, 2021.

Per the Return to Campus Policy, managers must allow an employee to continue remote work when they can perform their essential functions remotely and cannot return due to factors such as a higher-risk of illness or caretaking due to lost childcare.
Northwestern has also established a temporary provision so employees required to return to in-person campus work can request alternative work arrangements.
It is critical that we each take responsibility for maintaining the health of our community.
All community members who have returned to campus are required to report:
In-person gatherings (on or off campus) of up to 10 people can occur, when they are for Northwestern students, faculty, and staff and align with the University’s Return to Campus Policy. Event requirements include mask-wearing and appropriate social distancing.
Departmental or team meetings should still be held virtually wherever possible.
In general, travel should be limited or delayed wherever possible.
Faculty, staff, and student domestic travel is now permitted for essential purposes only. Travel to U.S. states or territories where COVID-19 cases are high or increasing should be avoided.

Community members must wear masks in all public and shared environments on campus, including densely populated offices and classrooms, common areas, restrooms, elevators, or University-provided group/mass transit. Read requirements.
Employees should regularly wipe down their personal work areas and maintain responsible personal hygiene. See cleaning procedures.
Departments and units can order hand sanitizer and disinfectant materials online.
The individual will be required to self-isolate in accordance with Northwestern and CDC requirements. Upon notice of a positive case, the University will follow its contact tracing process, follow the cleaning guidelines provided by the CDC. Review these procedures.
