Instruction
Northwestern is committed to the highest standards of instruction as it returns to in-person classes.
Community Expectations
It is critical that we each take responsibility for maintaining the health of our community.
Health Monitoring
All community members are required to report:
- Vaccination status
- Positive COVID-19 diagnosis or self-isolation due to suspected or known exposure to COVID-19
Faculty, staff and students who have approved exceptions to the University’s vaccination requirement also are frequently tested on campus.
Classroom Guidelines
Expectations for on-campus instruction include:
- All faculty, staff and students are required to be vaccinated (including boosters) against COVID-19.
- Students, faculty and staff who have an exception to Northwestern’s vaccination requirement are required to abide by safety standards and comply with heightened COVID-19 testing, symptom monitoring and quarantine/isolation protocols.
Meetings and Events
Capacity limits and restrictions for meetings and events are lifted. Masks are optional in most spaces. Certain events may require masking based on the number of attendees and location of the event.
