Update on Self Isolation

March 11, 2020

As coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across the U.S., Northwestern University is not immune from its impact. We wanted to inform you that some members of our community are self-isolating out of an abundance of caution, per the recommended University policy.

The University would like to thank the individuals involved for taking proactive measures to self-isolate. In the days and weeks to come, it is possible that more students, faculty and staff will elect to self-isolate.

The health and well-being of our community is Northwestern’s top priority. If you are sick, stay home from work or classes. Symptoms of COVID-19 may include a fever (above 100.4 degrees), coughing and difficulty breathing.

Students who have flu-like symptoms and are worried about COVID-19 should call Northwestern University Health Service at 847-491-8100. Faculty, staff or other community members who have flu symptoms and are worried about COVID-19 should contact their health care provider or pursue care at an urgent care center.

We would like to again take this opportunity to reiterate that your health and well-being is our first priority. Please take care of yourselves as we continue to navigate this dynamic situation.
