Prepare to Return

Looking ahead to Fall 2020, our goal is to carefully and deliberately return our community to campus, while also protecting the health of our students, faculty and staff and aligning with federal, municipal and local guidelines as well as COVID-19 best practices.

We are asking that schools and units be in “fall operations mode” by August 24th. As part of that, more faculty and staff will start returning to campus over the next seven weeks as part of Steps 4, 5 and 6. Our on-campus occupancy will be limited to 50% of normal levels in Evanston and 25% in Chicago, so many faculty and staff will continue to work remotely into the fall quarter. The return of students for face-to-face courses or course components will vary according to school or program, as well as personal circumstances.

Campus buildings will be activated on a pre-determined schedule, and faculty and staff should not regularly return to their building unless it is activated and you are instructed to as part of your approved school or unit plan.
