Prospective Students
Students entering one of the five bioscience PhD programs will be recruited, to include those individuals who are committed to collaboration and interdisciplinary research. Moreover, those who are traditionally underrepresented in the biosciences will be invited to join, to increase opportunities for their perspectives to enrich the CLIMB community.
Because CLIMB is a supplemental program, you will need to first apply directly to one of the five life science PhD programs. You must be admitted into one of the following Northwestern life science graduate programs:
- Biomedical Engineering (BME)
- Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE)
- Interdepartmental Biological Sciences (IBiS)
- Integrated Graduate Program in the Life Sciences (IGP)
- Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neuroscience (NUIN)

If you wish to express your interest in the CLIMB program, you may contact us. During the admissions season, if you are invited to Northwestern, you might also see the program director or assistant director during your visit when we give presentations about our program. After the admissions season, we will contact all incoming students in the PhD bioscience programs to see which students are interested in joining our program.
