Program Types

Northwestern University offers a variety of programs for undergraduate students during the academic year and summer.

Programs Abroad

Credit-bearing programs for undergraduate students taking place outside of the United States. Northwestern financial aid applies.

Co-Curricular and Virtual Programs

Programs taking place virtually or on campus in Evanston

Unaffiliated Programs

Unaffiliated programs are programs run by providers or other universities that have not been vetted by Northwestern and with which Northwestern does not have a formal agreement. Northwestern may grant students permission to apply to an unaffiliated program provided they have specialized academic needs that cannot be met by one of our many Northwestern and affiliated programs. No financial assistance through Northwestern is available for students who participate in unaffiliated programs.
