Eligibility & Funding Opportunities

The below tabs outline funding opportunities available to Northwestern students applying to participate in Northwestern Programs and Northwestern Exchanges. The GLObal Correspondent Grant is also available for Northwestern students applying to participate in affiliated programs. (Journalism Residency programs abroad, Semester in Qatar, and unaffiliated programs are not eligible).

There are also many opportunities to apply for outside scholarships and funding to help offset the cost of your study abroad program. However, deadlines come quickly. Plan ahead and check scholarship deadlines early in the application process.

Students can apply for all scholarships using just one online application which is linked to their Northwestern study abroad application. By completing the GLO study abroad scholarship application students will automatically be considered for all awards for which they are eligible.

To begin the GLO study abroad scholarship application students must first begin the Northwestern study abroad application. Within the Northwestern study abroad application, students should be sure to complete the program selection section and 1) indicate a Northwestern Program or Northwestern Exchange as their first choice and 2) be sure to answer yes to the question “Will you be applying for a scholarship?” within the scholarship selection section (at the bottom of the page).

These scholarships are available thanks to the generosity of various donors. GLO scholarship recipients are expected to follow the scholarship guidelines.
