After Arrival Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions asked by exchange students who have just arrived on campus.

How can I get involved on campus?

There are many ways to do this! You can join a club or student group, and a list of all the student organizations can be found at Wildcat Connection. Clubs range from an ultimate Frisbee team to Boomshaka, a group that creates music using non-traditional instruments like trash cans and body percussion.

How can I contact my adviser?

Set up an appointment. Visit the WCAS advising or McCormick advising webpage for contact information.

How can I get help with my classes?

Our academics webpage lists a variety of resources for academic assistance. We recommend visiting your professor during his or her office hours, contacting your teaching assistant (TA) or taking advantage of Northwestern's tutoring services.

What if I need help to improve my English language skills?

Refer to resources on the Office of International Student and Scholar Services website and through the Writing Place.
