January

  • Catrina DeBord was named to the NAFSA Region V Team as an Education Abroad Liaison

March

  • The following staff members presented at the International Educators of Illinois (IEI) Annual Conference at Harper College:
    • Catrina DeBord facilitated a Study Abroad 101 Workshop.
    • Sara McGuinn facilitated an Advising Methods in Education Abroad Workshop and gave presentations on the IEI Mentorship Program and Increasing Diverse Participation in Study Abroad.
  • Catrina DeBord and Janka Peiper of Northwestern's International Relations office published an article in the spring 2018 edition of IIE Networker titled The Death of the Info Session: Leveraging Tech to Reach Gen Z.

May

  • The following staff members presented at the NAFSA Annual Conference in Philadelphia: 
    • Whitney Bennett presented Technology in Transition: Tools for Change in Education Abroad at the Technology Fair.
    • Karey Fuhs and Jenifer Zabel ("JZ") of Northwestern's International Office presented Fiscal Responsibility: Developing and Managing Budgets.

    • Whitney Bennett presented It Takes Two to Trello: A Deep Dive into Project Management Systems and Taming the Wild Web: Choosing the Right Systems and Tech Tools
    • Catrina DeBord and Janka Peiper of Northwestern's International Relations office presented Collaborating to Tell your Institution's International Story. 
  • Krista Buda Bethel presented a Community Discussion on International Education Advising for First-Gen & High Financial Need Students for a Diversity Abroad webinar.
