Sarah Paretsky

Ms. Paretsky taught "The Art of Fiction: Moving to the Page"

Author of ten best-selling V.I. Warshawski novels, Ghost Country, and numerous short stories, Sara Paretsky is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 1996 Mark Twain Award for "distinguished contributions to Midwestern literature" and a Visiting Scholarship at Oxford University in 1997. Paretski helped found Sisters in Crime, with a current membership of over 3,000, to support other writers. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas, holds a Ph.D. in history and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Chicago. Born in Iowa and raised in Kansas, Paretsky now lives in a suburb of Chicago with her husband.
