WildCARD for New Students - Fall 2012

Welcome to Northwestern! As you make preparations for your first days on campus, don't forget to make time to pick up your student ID card, the WildCARD.

Pick up your WildCARD

To obtain your WildCARD, bring a driver's license, state photo ID, or a valid, unexpired passport to the WildCARD office, located in the underground level of the Norris University Center.

Appointment Times

In order to expedite the process of obtaining your WildCARD, we have scheduled appointment times according to last name.

If your last name begins with the letter:

If you will be on campus early or live in the area, you are encouraged to pick up your card during normal business hours prior to September 20. If you will be unable to pick up your card on your appointed day, you may pick it up any weekday after September 26, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.  You will be issued a temporary WildCARD by Undergraduate Housing upon arrival, so you can access your meal plan immediately.

Using your WildCARD

Your WildCARD is more than just your student ID. You can use it to:

• Access meal plans
• Check out materials at the library
• Ride the campus shuttles for free
• Workout at the campus athletic facilities
• Attend sporting events, concerts, plays and lectures
• Access the University Library system to use copiers and printers
• Receive discounts from local businesses participating in the WildCARD Advantage program
• Link it to your U.S. Bank checking account and use it as an ATM/debit card

Banking with your WildCARD

U.S. Bank has the only bank branch and ATMs on campus, and it is the only bank where you can have your WildCARD linked to your U.S. Bank checking account. Avoid paying costly ATM fees on campus and take advantage of the convenient banking services that U.S. Bank has to offer when you open your checking account.

If you wish to link your WildCARD to your existing U.S. Bank account, or for information on opening an account, visit the WildCARD Banking web page. For additional questions, you can email the U.S. Bank branch at usbank@northwestern.edu or call 847-475-3025. U.S. Bank will have extra staff on campus during orientation to open accounts or assist with any questions. To accelerate this process, we encourage you to have all of the necessary documents completed and bring them with you when you arrive on campus.
