In addition to driving to Northwestern, there are several transportation options available to commuters:
- Public transit, including CTA and Metra
- Car sharing with Enterprise CarShare and Zipcar
- PACE Rideshare
Alternative Transportation BrochuresThere are many different ways to commute to our Evanston and Chicago campuses. To illustrate the options, we created Alternative Transportation Brochures which include information on bus routes, biking to work, car-sharing programs, and more. The back of each brochure also has a chart to help you calculate your commuting costs. These brochures may be useful for new and current employees as well as visitors to campus.
Commuter Pre-Tax Transit Program
To help lower the cost of public transit and parking for those who commute to work at the University, Northwestern deducts University parking fees and transit expenses from benefits-eligible employees' gross pay before calculating taxes.
