O'Hare to Evanston Campus

Transportation options for getting from O'Hare Airport to Northwestern University's Evanston campus include:

CTA

1. From O'Hare Airport, take the Blue Line heading towards Forest Park. Exit at the Jackson stop.
2. Transfer to the Red Line heading towards Howard. Exit at the Howard stop.
3. Transfer to the Purple Line heading towards Linden. Exit at the Foster stop.  
4. Walk East on Foster Street towards Sheridan Road and you will see the Campus.
5. View the Interactive Campus Map to find your final destination.

Rush Hour Option (This is an option when the Purple Line runs through Chicago, approximately 6:00-10:00 am and 3:30-7:00 pm on weekdays.):

1. From O'Hare Airport, take the Blue Line heading towards Forest Park. Exit at the Clark/Lake stop.
2. Transfer to the Brown Line heading towards Kimball. Exit at the Belmont stop.
3. Transfer to the Purple Line heading towards Linden. Exit at the Foster stop.
4. Walk East on Foster Street towards Sheridan Road and you will see the Campus.

PACE Bus

1. From the O'Hare Aiport terminal, take the free ATS (Airport Transit System) train to the Kiss-n-Fly/Economy Parking Lot stop.
2. Take the Pace Bus #250 to the Davis St. CTA stop in downtown Evanston.
   Note: Depending on the day of the week and time of day, this bus leaves every 20-60 minutes. Check the PACE website for the schedule.
3. Exit onto Benson Avenue, walk east on Benson to Church St.
4. Walk east on Church Street towards Chicago Avenue.
5. Turn left onto Chicago Avenue and walk until you see the campus.

CTA  and Metra

Depending on your arrival time, you may want to take a combination of CTA trains, CTA buses, and/or Metra trains. Check out the different options on the CTA website. Search for Google Transit options using the "Plan a Trip" module on the right side of the page.

Cost: $2.25 for CTA train, plus cost of Metra tickets, which should be around $3 each.

GO Airport Express

GO Airport Express is a shuttle ground transportation provider for Chicago's O'Hare and Midway Airports. They offer a 15% NU discount for their efficient and economical shared ride airport shuttle services. Shuttles depart from O'Hare and Midway Airports every 10 minutes for Chicago downtown and suburban hotels/residences/schools/businesses.

ABC Limo

ABC Limo offers a discount to NU faculty, staff, and students through the WildCARD Advantage Program:

Airhop

Airhop is a student-run transportation service from the Evanston Campus to O'Hare and Midway airports. It operates at the beginning and end of Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks. Note: Tickets may only be purchased just prior to these travel times.
