Calibration Services

VWR

VWR, the preferred vendor for laboratory supplies, offers calibration and cleaning for laboratory equipment.

  • Pipettes
  • Temperature instruments
  • Timers and stopwatches
  • Humidity and pressure instruments

Calibration and cleaning is performed on a bi-monthly basis. Please contact VWR representative Amy Van Arsdale at 847-274-9152 or amy_vanarsdale@vwr.com for more information.

If you have an item that is too large to drop off, stop by the stockroom and pick up a repair form. A repairperson will schedule an appointment to clean and calibrate it in your lab.


Mettler-Toledo

If your lab has balances and/or scales, they can be maintained through Mettler-Toledo's calibration program.

Program Services:

  • Annual or Bi-Annual Preventative Maintenance
    Preventative maintenance includes balance cleaning, calibration, adjustments and minor repairs. Service is billed at $65/unit. Any additional parts required for non-routine repairs are discounted 20%. This work will be billed to your department/school chart string.
  • Emergency Calibration
    Emergencies due to circumstances that go beyond warranty and guaranteed work are billed at the Preventative Maintenance Service Program Rate of $146/hour (as well as $140/hr for travel time). This work will be billed by invoice directly to the department/school.

Billing
For annual or bi-annual preventative maintenance, labs will be billed to their department/school chart string. A purchase order is not necessary. If charging to a sponsored program, verify that account code 75450 is open.

For emergency calibration, invoices will be sent directly to the department/school.
