Calibration Services
VWR, the preferred vendor for laboratory supplies, offers calibration and cleaning for laboratory equipment.
- Pipettes
- Temperature instruments
- Timers and stopwatches
- Humidity and pressure instruments
Calibration and cleaning is performed on a bimonthly basis:
- Evanston stockroom (located in Tech KG48): 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month
- Chicago stockroom (located in Morton B652): 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month
If you have an item that is too large to drop off, stop by the stockroom and pick up a repair form. A repairperson will schedule an appointment to clean and calibrate it in your lab.

If your lab has Mettler-Toledo balances, they can be maintained through Mettler-Toledo's calibration program. Mettler-Toledo also offers calibration and cleaning for other laboratory equipment.
Program Services:
- Annual or Bi-Annual Preventative Maintenance
Preventative maintenance includes balance cleaning, calibration, adjustments and minor repairs. Servicing is billed at $55/visit. Any additional parts required for non-routine repairs are discounted 10%. - Emergency Calibration
Emergencies due to circumstances that go beyond warranty and guaranteed work are billed at the Preventative Maintenance Service Program Rate ($130/hour).
Billing
Labs will be automatically billed back through an internal charge back. A purchase order is not necessary. If charging to a sponsored program, verify that account code 75450 is open.
