TripShot Shuttle Tracker

Beginning September 1, 2023, TripShot is the app to use to track University shuttles in real-time. The TripShot app is available for both iOS and Android devices. There are a number of benefits, which include:

  • Users can set favorite routes and stops for faster access to arrival information
  • A trip planning feature
  • Enhanced alerts to provide notice of matters that may impact shuttle schedules
  • Live ridership information that shows available shuttle passenger capacity
  •  

To get started, follow the instructions below, or view the PDF instruction sheet that includes mobile device screenshots.

Sign Up for TripShot

You can download the TripShot app from either Apple’s App store or the Google Play store. If you are downloading the app for the first time, please follow these instructions:

  1. Enter your service name: Northwestern
  2. Select Sign Up and enter your University email address
  3. Go to your email and click the link in your email to set up your TripShot account
  4. Optional: Upon first logging in, TripShot will request access to your location and to send you notifications. Click "Allow"

Plan Your Trip

From the Home screen there are three ways to find your route and obtain travel information:

  1. Select Trip Planner: This will provide options from your current location to your destination.
  2. Select Routes: This will provide a list of all of the routes currently in operation.
  3. Select Nearby Stops: This will provide a a list of stops nearby along with the estimated or scheduled arrival times for that stop.

Set Up Notifications for Your Route

You can subscribe to receive push location notifications about your favorited shuttles:

  1. On your route map swipe from the bottom to reveal the trip details.
  2. Set a notification by choosing a departure time. Then tap the alarm icon.
  3. Edit your notification settings and save.
