The "Campus Safety: A Shared Responsibility" (Clery Act) pamphlet is published and distributed in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Campus Crime Statistics Act. The Act is the landmark federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose information on security policies and timely, annual information about crime on and around campus.

Schools also are required to notify the campus community about where public ("Megan's Law") information about registered sex offenders on campus can be obtained. A current listing of sex offenders is available at the Illinois State Police web site.

The "Campus Safety: A Shared Responsibility" pamphlet informs the University community about important procedures, policies, crime prevention programs and campus crime statistics. Northwestern University updates the "Campus Safety: A Shared Responsibility" pamphlet by October 1st annually and advises University community members of the publication and availability of the pamphlet. The pamphlet is also available to prospective students and employees.

Campus Security Authority Resource Materials

Campus Security Authority (CSA) resource materials include the annual CSA notice, CSA Crime Report Form, CSA Crime Report Form Definitions sheet and the CSA Orientation Training Guide Power Point (PDF). The CSA Training / Orientation Guide provides an overview of the Clery Act and defines CSA responsibilities and provides guidance on when to complete a CSA Crime Report Form.
