University Circle extends a warm welcome to you, the women who are new to Northwestern University.

University Circle, which has been in existence for eighty-eight years, is an organization dedicated to promoting friendship and advancing the interests of Northwestern University. Newcomers enjoy special events in addition to being invited to join in all of the activities of University Circle

The Northwestern University Circle, founded in 1915 by Mrs. James A. James is open to any person who holds, or whose spouse holds, an official relationship to Northwestern University, to Garrett Evangelical Seminary, or any parent residing with anyone holding such a relationship; any house director; and any person who has been a member of the University Circle.




The purpose of University Circle is to promote fellowship and to advance the interests of Northwestern. Membership is open to women in the University community, including faculty and staff and the spouses of faculty and staff. It is also open to women and affiliated women of the Garrett Evangelical Seminary and the Seabury-Western Theological Seminary.
