Meet at the beautiful home of Joan Fragen, 1230 Lincolnwood Drive in Winnetka, where we had the Halloween program. Every February, the United States celebrates the birthdays of two famous Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We will enjoy cherry pie and learn the story behind this tradition. Friday, February 29, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM: Central Street Shops
Come and explore some of the interesting stores on Central Street in North Evanston. We will visit The Spice House, Paper Source (arts and crafts), Perennials (stationary and gifts), Montoya Fiber Studio (yarn and knitting supplies), and several others. Bertha Mount of Northwestern’s University Circle will teach us some basic quilting steps and we will put together a small quilt. Bertha will show some quilts from her collection. Friday, April 18, 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM: Walking Tour of Chicago's Loop
We will take the Elevated train from the Davis Street station to the Loop and go on a walking tour to see some of the famous outdoor sculptures, architecture, and mosaics. Lunch will be downtown. Please RSVP by Wednesday, April 16 to Anita 847-869-3634.
