Planit Purple Help
Introduction
Welcome to PlanIt Purple, Northwestern University’s online calendar. A service offered by Northwestern’s Office of Web Communications, PlanIt Purple is a central repository for events happening throughout the entire Northwestern community.
If you're visiting PlanIt Purple for the first time and you're encountering any problems, an important first step is to make sure you've enabled Javascript on your browser and operating system.
Enable Javascript
If you’re having trouble viewing events or using PlanIt Purple in general, make sure Javascript is enabled in your browser. Find your browser in the list below for instructions on enabling Javascript.
Firefox (Mac)
1. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click “Firefox,” then “Preferences …”
2. Click the tab marked “Content.”
3. Click the checkboxes marked “Enable JavaScript” and “Enable Java.”
4. Click the red circle button at the top left of the Preferences window to close it.
5. Refresh your browser.
Safari (Mac)
1. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click “Safari,” then “Preferences …”
2. Click the tab marked “Security.”
3. Click the checkboxes marked “Enable JavaScript” and “Enable Java.”
4. Click the red circle button at the top left of the Preferences window to close it.
Internet Explorer (Windows)
1. Click on Tools from on the main menu bar.
2. Select Internet Options from the dropdown menu. The Internet Options popup window will appear.
3. Click the Security tab.
4. Under Security Level for This Zone, click Custom Level. The Security Settings popup window will appear.
5. Scroll down to the Scripting section. Under Active Scripting select the Enable radio button.
6. Click OK to close the Security Settings popup window.
7. Click OK to close the Internet Options popup window.
8. Refresh your browser.
Firefox (Windows)
1. In the menu bar near the top of the browser window, click “Tools,” then “Options …”
2. Click the tab marked “Content.”
3. Click the checkboxes marked “Enable JavaScript” and “Enable Java.”
4. To the right of the “Enable JavaScript” checkbox, click the button marked “Advanced …”
5. Click the checkboxes marked “Move or resize existing windows.” Click “OK.”
6. Click “OK” button at bottom of the Preferences window to close it.
