Calendar Administration
If you'll be creating a calendar and will be creating, editing, and managing events on it, congratulations! You're a calendar administrator. The following pages show how to manage your PlanIt Purple calendars, and should answer any questions you have about calendar administration.
Creating and Modifying a Calendar
Creating a calendar is the first step you'll need to take when listing your events in PlanIt Purple. You can name your calendar whatever you like, describe it, establish its privacy settings, and give it a custom URL.
Using the Dashboard
PlanIt Purple's Dashboard lets you keep track of and quickly access the calendars you administer. You might say it's the instrument panel of the PlanIt Purple experience. The dashboard, even.
Adding and Editing Events
There's not much point in creating a calendar with no events in it. Learn to create single and recurring events in your PlanIt Purple calendar here.
Managing Users
The pressure of managing a PlanIt Purple calendar on one's own can eventually become crushing, and can lead to the dreaded Calendar Burnout. You can avoid this tragic pitfall by appointing trusted associates to add, edit, and delete events in your PlanIt Purple calendar.
Using XML Feeds
Does your group have a Web site of its own, or are other sites interested in posting your events? Set up an XML feed for your PlanIt Purple calendar and let Web sites post live feeds of your event listings using the magic of the Internet!
