- The IO site’s interface and graphic design are vastly improved, resulting in a more polished look and a more pleasing overall user experience.

Web Communications worked collaboratively with Publications to develop a uniform branding from print to web, transparent to the client. This web and print branding proved successful and will be used in future years for all One Book events. Due to the success of this cross-media collaboration, both offices look forward to future joint efforts.
- Web Comm redesigned the One Book, One Northwestern web site, changing it from a static page to one with dynamic, updatable content.
- The new site is built using the WCMS, meaning it can be updated by department personnel and reused year after year – unlike the previous site, which had to be rebuilt from scratch.
- The new site features an XML calendar of One Book’s Plan-It Purple events, and will feature author information, FAQs, related links, and essays on related topics.

- Web Comm completely redesigned the Searle Center’s web site, both graphically and architecturally.
- Content revisions included a thorough reorganization and the creation of new site sections.
- A large number of department personnel was to update their site using the WCMS, as well as in web content writing and optimization techniques.
- The new site features an XML calendar of the Searle Center’s Plan-It Purple events.

- Web Comm built the site as an online resource for members of Northwestern’s Presidential Search Committee and for members of the Northwestern community following the committee’s progress.
- The site contains a substantial private area for search committee members to review potential University president candidates.
- The public area of the site hosts biographies of committee members, press releases, and information about open house informational sessions about the search.

- A comprehensive account of Northwestern University President Henry S. Bienen’s time in office, including a list of achievements, a timeline of his tenure, a press release, a listing of quotes from educational and community leaders, and an extensive photo gallery.
- To honor the career one of Northwestern’s greatest presidents, and to serve as a clearinghouse for media inquiries about President Bienen’s retirement.
- Through close collaboration with University Relations and deadline-oriented work on a short time table, all while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality before the announcement.

- Strategically rebuilt site architecture, regrouping content for easier navigation
- Converted multiple PDFs to HTML pages, improving navigability and usability

- A multi-phased redesign, from the ground up, of a 600+-page web site, encompassing a complete revision of both content and overall look and feel.
- To enhance the clarity, usability, and organization of a wide-ranging and heavily trafficked departmental web site, and to train departmental personnel to update the site as needed using Northwestern’s Web Content Management System.
- Working closely with University Services personnel, we thoroughly reviewed, restructured, and reworked the site’s existing content while completely rebuilding its navigation and design elements.
- Phase one started in August of 2007, and phase two is in progress. The front page, all top-level and secondary navigation pages, and all Laboratory Supplies and Passports and Vending sections are complete, with further revisions to come

- Complete overhaul of content, including restructuring site architecture, (including the merger of two existing sites), consolidating replicated information and writing new content.
- Complete redesign including improved navigation, color and new visual elements, such as tabbed tables to improve management of large amount of tabular data.
- Added functionality, including rotating images, breadcrumb navigation, search engine and a calendar of important dates.
- Built in the WCMS, where changes are either implemented on-demand, or automatically during a nightly deploy schedule.
