Four shuttle schedules revised

Several revised shuttle schedules are in effect for the Pace portion of the intercampus shuttle, the Evanston Purple Route shuttles, and the Chicago campus McGaw Medical Center and SafeRide shuttles.

A new schedule had added Pace intercampus routes during rush hours Sept. 30.

“We provide the same amount of trips between campuses during rush hours, but increased their travel times,” said Debra Garfi, senior manager, University Services.

Schedule or route changes also are in effect for the Purple Routes that run during the evening on the Evanston campus. The Purple Route has both a North and South shuttle. The North shuttle has stops on the north end of campus and areas where students live off campus. The new Purple Route North travels north on Ridge instead of Maple. This change was in response to input from Evanston residents and to allow greater accessibility to those students who live on Ridge.

The Purple Route South has stops on the south end of campus and downtown Evanston. A few extra minutes were added to allow extra time for the downtown portion of the shuttle.

The McGaw Medical Center Shuttle Schedule changes include new departure times and additional minutes added to the schedule. These new longer route times were in response to increased travel times now experienced on the route.

New morning departure times from the Feinberg School of Medicine (Ward Building) are 6 a.m., 6:35 a.m., 7:15 a.m., 8 a.m., 8:50 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The new afternoon departure times are 1:40 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3 p.m., 3:50 p.m. and 4:35 p.m.

An additional route has been added to the Chicago campus SafeRide route to accommodate students attending Law School classes. Students getting out of class at 8:35 p.m. will be able to board the new shuttle that departs the Ward Building at 8:40 p.m. with stops at the Law School (at 8:42 p.m.), the northeast corner of Lake Shore Drive and Chestnut (8:44 p.m.), Chestnut and Michigan (8:48 p.m.), the Chicago and State CTA Red line L stop (8:50 p.m.), the University Police Office parking lot C (8:54 p.m.), Abbott Hall at Lake Shore Drive and Superior Street (8:55 p.m.), parking lot D at the Ontario Street Garage (8:57 p.m.), and Fairbanks and Huron (8:59 p.m.).

Schedules are unchanged for the Evanston Shop-N-Ride Shuttle which operates on Sunday during the academic year; White Route Shuttle that operates Friday and Saturday evenings during the academic year; and weekday and weekend Ryan Field Shuttle; and the Chicago Campus SafeRide Shuttle and Train Station Shuttle.
