Ehud Kalai, Morrison Professor of Managerial
Economics and Decision Sciences at the Kellogg Graduate
School of Management, has been named the first James
J. OConnor Distinguished Professor in Decision
and Game Sciences. Kalai also holds an appointment as
professor of mathematics.
Kalais research on game theory has been published
in more than 60 journal articles. He is founding editor
of Games and Economic Behavior, a leading journal in
game theory, and co-editor of Frontiers of Research
in Economic Theory. He serves on the editorial
board of the International Journal of Game Theory.
Kalai is founder and executive vice president of the
international Game Theory Society, chairing its First
World Congress in Balbao, Spain, last year.
He is a fellow of the Econometric Society. Other honors
include the Oskar Morgenstern Research Professorship
at New York University in1991 and the Sherman Fairchild
Distinguished Scholar Award at the California Institute
of Technology in 1994.
A member of the faculty since 1975, Kalai is the founding
director of Kelloggs Center for Strategic Decision-Making.
He has won two outstanding teaching awards in the Executive
Masters Program. He served as chairman of the department
of managerial economics and decision sciences from 1983
to 1985 and was the key organizer of the annual Nancy
L. Schwartz Memorial Lecture Series.
