Northwestern University’s theatre department will produce the regional premiere of playwright Wendy MacLeod’s four-character contemporary play “Juvenilia.” Set in a fictitious private, liberal arts school called Jubilee College, it is a coming-of-age play about college roommates Henry and Brodie, Brodie’s girlfriend Meredith, and their conservative Christian neighbor Angie. The cleverly written comic drama about college-age narcissism and wry vengeance deals with subjects of universal relevance to young people -- casual sex, alcohol abuse and uncertainty about the future. Steppenwolf Theatre Artistic Associate and Northwestern University Associate Theatre Professor Anna D. Shapiro will direct the production. Single tickets are $20 for the general public; $18 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff; and $10 for students.
