Musician, Storyteller to Perform

Musician and storyteller Jennifer Armstrong will relate the stories of individuals who made choices reflecting the late Mohandas K. Ghandi’s call to “be the change you want to see in the world” during her 8 p.m. Friday (Oct. 22) program “Courage – An Evening of Storytelling, Poetry and Songs of Empowerment with Jennifer Armstrong.”

During the program, in the Theatre and Interpretation Center’s Hal and Martha Hyer Wallis Theatre, Armstrong also will recite poetry and sing songs to encourage people to create a more just and beautiful world.

Armstrong interweaves songs, tunes and tales into all of her storytelling programs. She has spent her life writing, singing and making music with a fiddle, Scottish bagpipe, banjo and words.

She grew up in a singing family and began performing with her parents — well-known folk singers George and Gerry Armstrong — at age 3.

Tickets are $10. For more information call the Theatre and Interpretation Center box office at  (847) 491-7282.
