June 2004 Music Calendar
June music highlights include a performance by the Chicago String Quartet (June 5).
Events listed below will be held on Northwestern’s Evanston campus at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle Drive, and Lutkin Hall, 700 University Place, as noted below.

Symphonic Band, “Reflections,” 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 3, Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. The Symphonic Band will perform Richard Rodney Bennett’s “The Four Seasons” and “Reflections on a 16th Century Tune,” Ross Lee Finney’s “Skating on the Sheyenne” and Eric Whitacre’s “Ghost Train.” Ryan Nelson will conduct. Single tickets are $6.50 for the general public; $4.50 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff; and $3.50 for full-time students.
Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. Victor Yampolsky will conduct the orchestra during their performance of Alexander Zemlinsky’s “Six Songs” and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 in D Major. Single tickets are $8.50 for the general public; $7 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff; and $4 for full-time students.
Chicago String Quartet, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, Lutkin Hall. Chicago String Quartet violinists Joseph Genualdi and Jasmine Lin, violist Rami Solomonow and cellist Marina Hoover will perform Mozart’s Quartet in D Minor and Beethoven’s Quartet No. 8 in E Minor. School of Music faculty member Alan Chow joins the group in Franck’s Piano Quintet. Single tickets are $14 for the general public; $10 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff; and $6 for full-time students.
