Northwestern Will Hold Memorial Services
EVANSTON, Ill. --- Northwestern University will hold memorial
services Wednesday to observe the one-year anniversary of
the September 11 terrorist attacks.
An interfaith service of remembrance for the victims
of the terrorist attacks will be held at noon at Alice Millar
Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Road, Evanston campus. The hour-long
service is sponsored by the Office of the University Chaplain
and campus ministries at Northwestern.
There will be music and readings appropriate to the occasion.
Gail Williams, professor of horn at the School of Music, will
perform the world premiere of "When Poets Close Their
Door," by Dana Wilson. This contemplative instrumental
work, composed especially for Williams, was written five days
after the September 11 attacks. The service is open to the

A memorial Morning Prayer service will be held at
8 a.m. at Sheil Catholic Center, 2110 Sheridan Road, Evanston
campus. The 45-minute service will include readings, music
and psalms. A 7:30 p.m. memorial Mass at Sheil will include
readings and music.
Rev. Ken Simpson, chaplain and director of Sheil Catholic
Center, will celebrate the hour-long Mass. For more information

A memorial observance will be held at noon at the
Northwestern University School of Law Atrium, 357 E. Chicago
Ave, Chicago campus. The observance will include a performance
by the Law School a cappella group Habeas Chorus. For more
