Graduate Policies

Students are required to abide by the policy of the school that administers the program in which they are enrolled.

The majority of the graduate degree programs at Northwestern University, including all Ph.D. programs are administered by The Graduate School. Exceptions are those graduate and professional degree programs listed at Graduate and Professional Schools.

Policies Governing Academic Conduct by Faculty

The same standards that apply to undergraduate and graduate work also hold for research and publication by the Northwestern faculty. For more information regarding these standards, see

Undergraduate Academic Conduct Committee

The Undergraduate Academic Conduct Committee (UACC) is a group of students, faculty, and an administrator charged by the Provost with recommending institutional policy and informing members of the community about their rights and obligations under the University's Principles Regarding Academic Integrity. The Committee also advises the Provost in cases where an adverse judgement by one of the undergraduate schools is appealed at the highest level.

Northwestern University is a member of the national Center for Academic Integrity.
