Celebrate Earth Month

In honor of Earth Day, April 22, Northwestern is offering opportunities to learn, volunteer, and celebrate. Join in to support sustainability efforts on campus and to learn how you can contribute through simple, everyday actions. Some upcoming events are highlighted below. Art Inspired by the Science of Climate Change
Open during normal building hours throughout April

Works by artist and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law graduate Alisa Singer transform data into stunning illustrations that tell the story of our changing climate.

Green Office Brown Bag
12 p.m. to 1 p.m., April 18    
Norris University Center, Wildcat Room, Evanston
Northwestern staff members are invited to learn how they can get involved in reducing the University’s environmental impact. This event is hosted by the Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council (NUSAC) and sustainNU.

Tree Planting  
9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (session 1) or 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (session 2), April 19
Meet at the RockEvanston

Help plant a tree and learn about our urban forest with the professionals who care for the trees, plants, and landscapes on campus.

Mount Trashmore
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 21
Sheridan Road, north of Foster Street, lawn in front of Lunt Hall, 2033 Sheridan Road, Evanston 
Visit "Mount Trashmore,” a pile of trash representing the volume of waste generated on campus. Stop by for giveaways that will help you reduce waste (while supplies last)! Learn how you can generate less waste and recycle more. This event is weather permitting.

March for Science, Chicago
10 a.m., April 22
Congress Parkway and Michigan Ave., Chicago
For one day only, Columbus Drive is becoming Science Drive. The goals of the event are: to show support for the scientific community; to safeguard the scientific process; and to publicly celebrate science.

Sustainability Scavenger Hunt
1 p.m. to 3 p.m., April 23
Norris University Center, front entrance, Evanston
Grab your friends and join the Associated Student Government Sustainability Committee and GREEN House in a race to find green features on Northwestern's Evanston campus. This is a scavenger hunt complete with prizes. Bring your smartphone. RSVP here.

Transportation Benefits Sessions
