Northwestern Goes for the Gold

This month Northwestern added to its list of certified green buildings when the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) awarded the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts LEED Gold for New Construction. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. This rating system from the USGBC recognizes buildings that meet high standards for sustainability. Northwestern now has seven LEED certified buildings, including two that achieved LEED Silver, and five that achieved LEED Gold.
