HTH Insurance
All students who participate in Northwestern Summer Study Abroad Programs (with the exception of Arles and Montpellier)* are required to purchase HTH health insurance. For the summer of 2008, the cost of the HTH plan will be approximately $6.36 per week (or partial week) for the student participant. Coverage is also available for the participant's spouse and family at an additional charge. HTH is meant to be supplemental to a domestic health plan, and it only provides coverage for a student when s/he is outside the United States . Because HTH does not provide coverage for students upon return to the United States, it is essential that domestic health plans that do provide such coverage in the U.S. remain in effect.

*Please Note: Students participating in the IES Arles and UMN Monpellier Summer Program are not required to purchase HTH Insurance; rather, they must enroll in the insurance plan required by IES and UMN respectivally.

Enrollment Instructions
Northwestern students can enroll in the HTH plan online by clicking on the link below: www.hthstudents.com. Students must enroll for the entire duraction of their program, including the days spent traveling to and from their host location.  Upon completion of the online enrollment process, students must print out a receipt that shows proof of the transaction. A copy of the receipt should be submitted to the Study Abroad Office with your pre-departure forms by the specified deadline. Students who fail to submit any of the required pre-departure forms or fail to purchase the HTH insurance will not be officially approved by Northwestern to study abroad.

Once enrolled, students and parents should become familiar with the details of the policy and how to get medical care overseas if needed.
