Northwestern Requirements
Students must enroll in a full course load as determined by the University of Cork. For one semester, 6 courses (15 semester credits or 30 ECTS credits) is a full course load.Fall semester students may participate in the Early Start Option and earn 4 semester credits before the start of the regular semester. Those who choose this option are allowed to take a course underload of 5 courses (equal to 12.5 semester credits) during the fall semester.

- Co-Curricular Learning Certificate: By participating in a minimum of 20 hours in a variety of learning activities and writing a reflective essay about your experiences, you can receive a non-credit bearing certificate to accompany your official transcript. Application Requirements
Prior to receiving an application, all Northwestern students must complete the following steps:
- Complete the mandatory Study Abroad 101 Quiz on Blackboard. Call 847-467-6400 or e-mail studyabroad@northwestern.edu (include your name and netID) to register for this quiz.
- After receiving a score of 90% or above, students can pick up the Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad at the Study Abroad Office. This application it is not available online.
Northwestern students must complete two applications for this program:
- Arcadia program application, available on the Arcadia web site.
- Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad.
