Northwestern Requirements

Students must enroll in a full course load as determined by the University of Cork. For one semester, 6 courses (15 semester credits or 30 ECTS credits) is a full course load.

Fall semester students may participate in the Early Start Option and earn 4 semester credits before the start of the regular semester. Those who choose this option are allowed to take a course underload of 5 courses (equal to 12.5 semester credits) during the fall semester.

English, Chemistry, Government, Music, Archaeology, Math, Engineering. Department dedicated to Celtic Civilizations where students can take courses in Celtic Civilization, Irish Cultural Studies, and Gaelic language.

  • Early start option available for fall and full year students: Arrive one month before the start of the fall term, study an intensive Irish topic and participate in day and weekend trips.
  • Co-Curricular Learning Certificate: By participating in a minimum of 20 hours in a variety of learning activities and writing a reflective essay about your  experiences, you can receive a non-credit bearing certificate to accompany your official transcript.
