Arcadia Center for Hellenic, Mediterranean, & Balkan Studies

» General Information

Location:

Athens, Greece (Population: 3.3 million)

Description:

The Arcadia Center offers a wide variety of courses that delve into Greek history, politics and culture. The program offers small classes, close contact with professors and the opportunity to live in a Greek neighborhood.   All students enroll in a cornerstone course, the Greek Key, designed to aid students in the cross-cultural learning process by involving them in Greek community life.  In addition, students enroll in a required Greek language course and several English-taught electives in a variety of disciplines.

Many courses incorporate field-study excursions to sites of historical and cultural importance so students are able to see first-hand the landmarks and places that have inspired and influenced the people and events studied in courses.
