Description:

University College London (UCL), the oldest and largest constituent member college of the University of London, is extraordinarily diverse with 18,000 students, one-third of whom are international. UCL has excellent departments in a wide range of subject areas, but its Economics and English departments are among the best in the country.

Northwestern Requirements

Northwestern students are required to live in University campus housing whenever possible. Arcadia will place students in University housing if it is available.

Program Requirements

  • Students must have a 3.3 GPA; those studying History or English must have a 3.5 GPA.
  • Students apply to 1-2 departments only and must have a solid background in these subjects.

Academic Specialties

Economics, English, History, Anthropology, Political Science, Philosophy, and Art.

Course Type

Direct university enrollment facilitated by Arcadia University.

Additional Information

Co-Curricular Learning Certificate: By participating in a minimum of 15 hours in a variety of learning activities and writing a reflective essay about your  experiences, you can receive a non-credit bearing certificate to accompany your official transcript. Housing

University Housing:

  • University College London (UCL) offers students the option of living in university halls of residence or student houses, but cannot guarantee housing for fall or spring semester students. While all students are guaranteed to receive housing either in UCL accommodation or in Arcadia University student housing, only full year students are guaranteed housing in a UCL residence. Please note that students living in Arcadia housing may have 15-45 minute commute from their accommodation to the UCL campus.

Fall 2009: $24,725

  • This includes the cost of estimated tuition, room, board, books, transportation, personal expenses and SAAF. The sample costs provided are for the fall term; for other terms and for the most current cost, contact the sponsoring organization.

Application Requirements

Prior to receiving an application, all Northwestern students must complete the following steps:
  1. Complete the mandatory Study Abroad 101 Quiz on Blackboard.  Call 847-467-6400 or e-mail studyabroad@northwestern.edu (include your name and netID) to register for this quiz.
  2. After receiving a score of 90% or above, students can pick up the Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad at the Study Abroad Office. This application is not available online.
Northwestern students must complete two applications for this program:
  1. Arcadia program application, available on the Arcadia web site.
  2. Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad.
