A one-month cultural practicum opportunity is available in February/March. During the practicum, students live with a second host family and engage in internship-style experiences with local institutions outside of the Tokyo area. Those interested in adding this cultural practicum option onto the fall semester should check the program dates to be sure they will return in time for the spring quarter at NU.

Application Requirements
Northwestern students must complete two applications for this program:
- Complete the Earlham program application by January 15th; this application is available on the Earlham Japan Study web site.
- Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad, by a special deadline in early January. Please contact the Study Abroad Office (847-467-6400) for more information.
Note: Applicants must download the Earlham application instructions prior to completing the online application. The instructions explain the required written essays, references, and signatures, which must be mailed to the Earlham Japan Study office by the application deadline.
